Project description

The European road E 233 is part of the Trans-European transport network (TEN) and the shortest connection between the port and economic centres of Rotterdam and Bremen/Hamburg.

It runs from Zwolle in the Netherlands, across the German/Dutch border in a West to East direction, intersects with the federal highway BAB 31 at the Meppen junction, and leads to federal highway BAB 1, Cloppenburg junction.

On behalf of the district of Cloppenburg, Vössing carried out project control services for the planning stages 4, 5 6 and 8.

In the area of track to be expanded, a multitude of existing bridges must be replaced with new structures, and new bridges are required at the newly planned junctions.

In total, approx. 42 new structures will be built: the estimated building costs are approx. €43 mil.

This affects dirt tracks and agricultural roads, community, district, state and federal roads, as well as motorways.

Primarily prestressed concrete constructions and framework constructions are built.
